New street food restaurant HIPS opens at T1
Now open in the 4th floor food area of shopping and entertainment centre T1 Mall of Tallinn, HIPS is a new restaurant serving quality hipsterish street food prepared with the best local ingredients.
HIPS is a vibrant yet cosy addition to Taste of Tallinn, the Mall’s food district. The founders of HIPS say their restaurant is the younger sister of the popular and acclaimed Pelm Restaurant on the 4th floor of T1 Mall of Tallinn, and is run by a similarly bright and professional team.
Konstantin Kiselyov, the head chef and and food wizard who composed the menu for HIPS, says: “Our concept is slow fast food. The aim was to create a menu of enjoyable fine dishes made of best local ingredients in a short preparation time. So that even a customer who has just 20 minutes can get a full-value restaurant experience.
The main courses at HIPS are founded on “three pillars”: craft burgers, cutlets with a twist and hand-made spaghetti. We cater to vegans as well as meat-lovers. There’s also an exciting choice of starters, like our total makeover of classic fish & chips under the name of Mr Salmon and Mrs Chips, or shrimp popcorn with chilli mayo sauce, or tuna tataki. Our sweet treats include old-school doughnuts and La Muu ice creams, representing the wave of domestic eco-products.”
The bicycle-themed interior design of HIPS is truly hipster affair as well. Many details feature reused materials and natural wood. The ambient design was created by renowned interior architect Aet Piel.
Taste of Tallinn is a cluster of 29 ethnic kitchens, restaurants, street food outlets and cafés in T1 Mall of Tallinn. The Taste of Tallinn restaurants on floors 1, 2 and 3 are open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM, while the 4th floor restaurants offer great food and views of Tallinn from 11 AM to 9 PM Sunday to Thursday, and 11 AM until 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
